Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a concentration of blood platelets suspended in a small volume of plasma, and it can be obtained by centrifuging the patient’s whole blood. It is used in many fields of medicine, including orthopaedics and traumatology.
The range of indications for PRP therapy has been extended.
The mechanism of action of PRP is based on function of growth factors. The application of PRP can be considered for tendinopathy and enthesopathy treatment, osteoarthritis treatment, muscle and ligament injuries, bone lesion treatment, bone infections and many other diseases.
